Oxenford Pony Club held their annual Gala Hack Show today at the Oxenford Pony Club. This is the premier Gala Hack show on the Gold Coast. It is an event I always look forward to and as always it was an overwhelming success. To all the volunteers and club officials well done, and to all those who competed it was very entertaining and great to watch. Also to our Master of Ceremonies Jenni from Studio Village Community Centre you as always do a fantastic job for the local community.

Beenleigh Special School was a hive of athletic activity today at their Olympic sports day. Once again team Albert with a slight advantage in overwhelming numbers won the sports day. But team Logan can be proud, vastly outnumbered they held their own and won a lot of events. Go Albert! Now I'm off to buy a new sports day shield for the school, we have run out of room on the old one.

Great news for residents who regularly use Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road near Shaws Pocket. We have finally secured $958,000 in funding to "significantly improve the bend near Shaws Pocket at Rocky Creek" This will include raising the outer edge of the road to provide a turning bank to allow vehicles to manoeuvre through the curve more safely.
