Additional Information:  

On the 29th of May the 15th Battalion was ordered to conduct a counterattack at Quinn’s Post against the Turks, who had attacked the position after detonating a mine under it and occupied some of the Australian trenches.

After fierce fighting the 15th Battalion was successful at retaking Quinn’s Post from the Turks, with both sides taking heavy casualties. Private Bourke suffered a gunshot wound during this battle, which led to his death the next day.
