Recently we requested Department of Main Roads to installed “No Fishing, Diving or Jumping From Bridge” signs on the John Muntz Bridge. I have had a few residents express their concerns at individuals jumping from the bridge into the water. As one resident said, “you don’t know what is under the water, regularly we see tree logs floating or partly submerged in the river after rain events.”

Works are proceeding quickly at the back of Highland Reserve State School (Highland Way) for the new school crossing. It will be great to see our new school crossing guard at this location for the start of the 2019 school year!

Unfortunately there is still no commitment by the State or Council for river bank reinforcement works upstream of the John Muntz Bridge to limit any future erosion and protect the connecting road.

It has taken a lot of lobbying to get Tamborine Oxenford Road repaired “properly” as you traverse Wongawallan. Gone are the bump and pot holes that has plagued the road for the last couple of years.

Letter to the Minister for Main Roads regarding the intersection at Henry Roberts Drive and Beaudesert-Nerang Road. Residents of the area are seeking a turn left lane from Beaudesert-Nerang Road into Henry Roberts Drive. The intersection is located within a short distance of a hill crest, which limits visibility for vehicles traveling east towards the intersection. Therefore forcing motorists unfamiliar with the area to decelerate quickly.
