3-Day Lockdown for South East Queensland, Townsville, Magnetic Island and Palm Island Starting at 6pm Tonight

There’s been 2 new locally acquired cases today so the Premier has just announced from 6pm tonight (Tuesday 29 June) we’ll head into a 3-day lockdown at least until 6pm Friday (2 July).

1 of the cases is a miner from Ipswich but is low risk as mostly in home quarantine.

The second case is someone who works at Prince Charles Hospital and lives at Sandgate. They worked as a casual receptionist outside the COVID ward but they had not been vaccinated.

They travelled to Magnetic Island and Townsville last week and went to the markets there on Sunday.

The Government has decided due to multiple cases coming through with the Portuguese restaurant, the flight attendant, the miners and this latest case we’ll go into a 3-day lockdown.

From 6pm tonight (Tuesday 29 June) at least until 6pm Friday 2 July.
